Degree Programme in Nursing – daytime studies
The nursing programme prepares you to examine a patient’s condition, handle their medication, coordinate their treatment, and provide guidance and support for them and their family members. Promoting and maintaining good health as well as preventing and treating illnesses are important in this programme. Studies give you required skills of communication and interaction for working life. After learning the practical skills, you will improve your problem solving and decision making in different nursing environments.
A special feature in this programme are the work placements that are 75 study credits altogether: approximately seven practical training periods. Placements give you valuable experience and skills of working with real patients in authentic health care situations. Overall, this programme is suitable for you who are interested in health and nursing, enjoy working in groups and would like to work to help and support other people.

How to study
This is a day-time programme, and it includes contact teaching and face-to-face instruction. Student groups are multicultural and international. During the studies you carry out projects in authentic environments. The programme also includes Finnish studies, particularly focusing on nursing-related vocabulary.
Note: All applicants for the degree programme in Nursing are required to have basic Finnish skills (level B1) and English skills (level B2). As a part of the studies there are special language courses that include vocabulary of the field.
