Master of Naprapathy | part-time or online studies

The first of its kind in the Nordic countries, this new Master’s degree programme offers you the opportunity to develop and expand your naprapathic skills.

Xamk will launcha new Master’s degree programme in naprapathy in spring 2021. The programme will deepen and expand your development and specialist skills in naprapathy, providing you with new opportunities to work as a specialist in musculoskeletal disorders in the multidisciplinary health care field.

The degree programmebrings together naprapaths operating in the Nordic countries, all working in similar environments. In this way, you have the opportunity to learn about the work of other international students and adopt good practices from them.

Total duration of the studies is two to three years.

The degree programme focuses on promoting competence in musculoskeletal health and acting in the field of physical exercise and sports medicine.

The primary language of instruction in this programme is English. Most of the studies are organized online. Contact lessions will be held in Kotka, Finland and in Stocholm, Sweden.

The programme is aimed at applicants having a Bachelor’s degree in naprapathy who are licensed to practise the profession in their own country and have at least two years of work experience. The studies may be performed alongside work, but having a job is not a prerequisite.

The degree programme is implemented in collaboration with Naprapathögskolan – Scandinavian College of Naprapathic Manual Medicine, Stockholm.

Study contents

Studies cover 90 ECTS credit:

Module I 10 ECTS credits

• “Research and Development in Naprapathic Manual Medicine”
• Scientific theory and methods – 5 cr.
• Leadership – 5 cr.

Module II 20 ECTS credits

• “Advanced Diagnostics and Treatment Methods in Naprapathic Manual Medicine”
• Advanced skills in musculoskeletal disorders – Spine – 10 cr.
• Advanced skills in musculoskeletal disorders – Extremities – 10 cr.

Module III 20 ECTS credits

• “Physical Exercise and Sports Medicine”
• Testing, measurement and assessment in physical exercise and sports – 10 cr.
• Special aspects of sports medicine – 10 cr.

Module IV 10 ECTS credits

• “Complementary Courses”

• Complementary studies in manual and sports medicine
• Complementary studies in sports and exercise sciences

Module V 30 ECTS credits

• Master’s thesis – 30 cr.

Master’s Thesis

Master’s thesescompleted in the degree programme are related to manual medicine, physical activity in the examination, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, and sports medicine.
