International Business
The business degree programme studies in Varkaus Campus deal with international business strategies, international business operations and various aspects of international marketing. Cultural competencies, languages and computer skills, among others, are covered during the studies as well. You can study part of your courses abroad at any of our numerous foreign partner institutions. The study environment is international as your fellow students come from several different countries. In other words, you can start building you international networks already when studying. In addition, the compulsory work placement or part of it can be done abroad.
The degree programme utilises new teaching and learning methods in order to provide good multidisciplinary knowledge for the needs of working life. Participating in versatile projects gives you an asset and competence that is needed for your future career. It will also be possible for you to study in a web based learning environment.The learning methods are developing fast particularly in eLearning and Learning by Doing. Participating in versatile projects enables you to start your working career in business while you are still studying.
The Degree Programme qualifies you for working independently in business and administration in various duties such as company planning, management, marketing, international business operations and import/export duties as well as in specialist tasks or R&D. Your future employer may be an international company or industry in Finland or abroad or a company which is going international unless you want to set up a company of your own. You will have good opportunities in finding a job in which English language skills are needed.
