Industrial Management programme is a combination of Engineering, Business and Project Management and it gives the students many possible career options for their future.
Bachelors of Industrial Management are able to deal with various tasks such as technology projects, engineering, production, supply chain and logistics, business management and marketing of goods and services in international environment. They are able to work as managers, team leaders, consultants, trainers and experts in the fields of industrial engineering and international business.
There are two specialisation options available in Varkaus. Project Management specialisation focuses on managing technology projects, gaining technology know-how, developing products and services, marketing, production, supply processes and after sales services. Business Management focuses on international business management, marketing and selling of technology products and customer services. It also deals with internationalization of companies.
Contents of studies
The structure of the studies is based on real life business processes and the learning process on problem based learning. Students are able to include in their programme up to 30 credits special project studies in companies besides engineering student’s normal 6 months, and 30 credits of work placement studies. A part of the studies is arranged in close co-operation with Savonia Business and its International Business Programme in Varkaus.
Students have a good opportunity to continue their studies later in Master’s Degree Programme of Industrial Management in Varkaus.
